D5L Recreational Craft Operators
The D5L certificate is required in order to operate a recreational craft with a hull length of 15 meters and upwards, but less than 24 meters, in the trade area Great Coasting.
D6 – Certificate of Competency for Deck Officer Class 6
The D6 certificate is required for masters on most cargo ships of 8 metres in overall length and upwards, but less than 24 meters, in the trade area Small Coasting.
Crowd and Crisis STCW
The training is conducted in accordance with the STCW convention requirements.
The course includes the following two IMO Model Courses:
- IMO 1.41 Passenger Ship Crowd Management Training
- IMO 1.42 Passenger Ship Crisis Management and Human Behaviour Training.
ICC - International Certificate of Competence
The International Certificate of Competence (ICC) gives you the right to operate a recreational craft in other countries which have adopted UNECE Resolution No. 40 concerning ICC. An ICC issued in Norway gives master's rights of recreational craft of up to 15 metres.
D5L Worldwide
You can extend the trade area(all waters) of your Certificate for Deck Officer Class 5 Pleasure Craft by taking a 45-hour supplementary course.
D5 - Deck Officer Class 5
Certificate of competency Deck officer class 5 gives the right to serve on ships with a gross tonnage of less than 500 in North and Baltic shipping as Duty Officer in charge or/and Chief Mate.
Boating Licence
This is a theory based course and exam which is mandatory if you want to operate boats up to 15 meters (50 feet) in Norway. The exam is a 50 multiple choice questions exam lasting one hour.
